I am passionate about learning that is tailored to children's interests and gives lots of opportunity for children to be creative and critical thinkers. I think it's important that learning materials cater to a variety of learning styles and are differentiated so that individual needs can be better met. These resources will not only engage your learners, but they'll save you time, so that you can focus on doing what you do best.

If youâre after engaging activities for learning about Ramadan, then youâll love this pack which comes with a reading passage to teach your students about the celebration of Ramadan, and afterwards students can make lanterns and write about what theyâve learned.
About the Lanterns:
Ramadan lanterns are so beautiful and a special symbol of Ramadan, so this hands-on craft is a great way for students to show what they know about Ramadan. The craft is very easy to assemble, and Iâve included options for six designs, and three line sizes.
There are two possible ways you could use this craft:
Children write facts about Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr on a lantern craft.
Children make art projects using the templates, with crayon and dye, paint, torn paper, or markers.
About the Reading Passage:
The text is editable (images/layout arenât) so that you can adapt this to your needs. It also comes with a gap-fill worksheet for students to complete by finding all the key facts within the text. An answer key is included to make marking easy.
Whatâs included?
reading passage
gap-fill worksheet
answer key
templates for the lanterns in 1-inch, 3/4 inch, and 1/2 inch line sizes
templates for the lanterns for art
visual instructions
U.K and U.S versions
Extra pages are included for each line size for children who love to write a lot.
These lanterns would look stunning on a bulletin board.
I hope your students have fun learning about Ramadan with these activities.
Learning to weave a kete is a fun activity that enriches childrenâs learning about traditional MÄori crafts. It can be used during Matariki to celebrate this special time of year or at any time of the year to teach children the skills of weaving. It is also a great way to build fine motor skills.
There are three differentiated versions to choose from:
The easiest level uses three strips of coloured paper and is ideal for young learners and those with limited fine motor skills.
The medium level also uses three strips of paper, but the number of under/over movements has increased.
The hardest level is great for older children and uses five strips of paper.
This activity is ideal for the whole class, small groups, early finishers, rotating stations, and library sessions.
I hope you and your children enjoy weaving their kete!
